We have had many clients ask about their Indiana individual tax refund–specifically the lack of having received the refund to date. We have determined that Indiana is not releasing the refunds until a copy of the individual’s W-2, 1099-R or other documents supporting withholding and credits is sent to the Indiana Department of Revenue (IDOR). Although this seems counterproductive to the state’s mandate to efile, we have been told that if we want the refund we need to send the information.
So, have you received your Indiana individual tax refund yet? If not, you will need to send documentation substantiating withholding and credits claimed to the IDOR (if you are a Somerset client, please contact us and we will do this for you). To check your Indiana individual refund status and for more information, visit the IDOR’s site.

Is there a way to track my Indiana tax refund? I already received my federal refund .I used turbo tax but there is no way to check the state refund status. Thanks
Yes, the Indiana Department of Revenue provides a web site where you can check the status of your refund. Just follow this link: https://secure.in.gov/apps/dor/tax/refund/
